all that. The main consequence − heavy objects fall at the same rate as
light objects − isn't usually observed in nature. The thought experiment
highlights the difference between the two, at least forcing one to think
why the thought experiment diverges from observation. Either discard
linearity (or even reductionism), or accept that the real−life
observations contain complications beyond the simplest models.
