I think it's view is outdated and partial. For example, in the following paragraph, it says that "myopia is inherited", and that's it. It didnt mention the lifestyle's impact.

That's why in the （方舟子摘译自美国眼科科学院2004年出版的宣传小册子
Eye Care Facts and Myths: A Closer Look）
it denies the impacts of dim light, close work, etc.

The follwoing is from its 2003 publication.

"Myopia is inherited and is often discovered in children whey they are between 8 and 12 years old. During the teenage years, when the body grows rapidly, myopia may become worse. Between the ages of 20 and 40, there is usually little change. "
