Well, a few comments
1) My view is publication is publication, regardless whether its a conference or a journal publication. As xys1234 pointed out, in CS, conference papers are very important.
2) You seem to be biased on Jin's publications based on where they were published, and to which conferences he went. Ranking a conference or a journal based on the so called impact factor is meaningless. As far as he has his idea, results and opinions published, that is his achievement. We can't judge the quality of a publication simply by looking at the impact factor. Nor can we even compare a paper published on journal A of impact factor 2.2 with a paper published on a journal B of impact factor 1.9. It's not an apple to apple comparison. The importance is getting one's ideas presented to the public. Thats the fundamental purpose of publication. Comparing the impact factors is not.
3) Grid computing. From what I've learned, grid is not yet a matured technology, but rather an initiative. Past two years have seen many initiatives in Europe and Asia. With teh support from local and central governments, the infrastructure of China grid is being built, grid computing and applications are being actively studied by universities and non academic facilities such as Shanghai Supercomputer Center in China. Therefore I think your claim on grid computing in China is very subjective.
